The Bicentennial Commission encourages Greensboro neighborhoods, community groups and organizations to design, plan and carry out new or existing projects and activities that complement the city's Bicentennial Celebration. The Bicentennial Commission will evaluate giving the event/project "Affiliated Bicentennial Activity" status, which then qualifies the activity to use the Bicentennial logo and be included on the Bicentennial website and in other appropriate publicity materials generated through the Commission.

To qualify as an Affiliated Bicentennial Activity, the sponsoring group or organization agrees to the following criteria:

The organization completes and submits this application to the Bicentennial Commission for approval of the activity (event, project) and will supply additional data if requested.

The organization's activity will be open to all interested citizens of Greensboro. Any exceptions need to be authorized by the Bicentennial executive group.

The organization's activity will celebrate Greensboro's Bicentennial by supporting, featuring and/or focusing on one or more themes of the Bicentennial:
(1) "...to commemorate the founding of Greensboro in 1808 with historical, educational and multicultural celebrations by the entire community"..."events, projects, and activities that reflect the rich heritage of Greensboro as well as the exciting promise of the city's future."
(2) To foster the spirit of celebration in one or more areas -- religion, education, arts, history, nature, government, people, or business.
(3) To incorporate historic and/or futuristic elements.

The organization will display or reproduce Bicentennial logo materials in their approved formats; will meet established dates and procedures for the submission of publicity materials, and will distribute/sell only official commemorative or promotional items authorized by the Bicentennial Commission.

The organization will be responsible for scheduling, contracting, procurement and payment of obligations for their respective activities, including acquisition of permits as may be required, establishing security procedures, and obtaining necessary personnel appropriate to the event.

That unless specifically contracted in writing in advance of the activity, the Bicentennial Commission shall have no responsibility for financial obligations associated with the event/project.
