Lincoln Financial Group presents the Torch Relay, March 25-28, 4-7PM
A Torch Relay, encompassing Greensboro neighborhoods, kicks off the period of celebration with an opening ceremony to follow. The relay will take place in the evenings beginning Tuesday, March 25th through Friday, March 28th. Games, activities and an opening ceremony will take place on Friday evening at the end of the torch relay at NewBridge Bank Park. Relay begins at 4 PM and ends at 7 PM each day. This event is free and open to the public.
Tuesday, March 25th: Starts at War Memorial Stadium located at 510 Yanceyville Street and ends at Fisher Park. View route.
Wednesday, March 26th: Starts at Bennett College at the Pheiffer Chapel and ends at the McGee Street Roundabout (near the Carolina Theatre). View route.
Thursday, March 27th: Starts at Guilford College at the Dana Auditorium and ends at the Tanger Family Bicentennial Gardens gazebo area at Hobbs and Cornwallis. View route.
Friday, March 28th: Starts at Guilford Courthouse National Military Park and ends at NewBridge Bank Park located at 408 Bellemeade Street. View route.
Lincoln Financial Group presents the Bicentennial Opening Ceremony, Friday, March 28, Outside Games: 5PM-6:30PM, Gate Opens: 6PM
On Friday, March 28th, the torch will reach its final destination at the NewBridge Bank Park, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers, located at 408 Bellemeade Street. The excitement will build as the torch is carried into the stadium, leading in 200 members of the Greensboro Community who collectively represent our 200 years. The event will feature a variety of children's games, historical representations, music by local artists including Wally West, and fireworks. Lisa Dames, a rising country music star, will headline the entertainment as the torch officially lights the cauldron and the celebrations begin. This event is free and open to the public.

Faith Community Pulpit Exchange, April 4-6
Participating faith groups will welcome worship leaders from different faith groups to speak to their congregations.
Celebrate 200! Dance Through the Decades, Friday, April 11, 8PM- 12AM
Celebrate 200! Dance Through the Decades will kick off Greensboro's Heritage Festival weekend with a night of excitement and dance at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center located at 1921 West Lee Street. With an advanced purchase, you can receive a ticket for $25.00. Tickets are on sale at the Carolina Theater at 310 S. Greene Street, the Greensboro Historical Museum at 130 Summit Avenue, Ticketmaster, and the Greensboro Coliseum Box Office. Tickets will be $30.00 at the door the night of the event. For groups of 10 or more, tickets are available for $20.00. Come dressed to impress in your favorite decade wear and come prepared to dance to music from a variety of decades. Dances from different eras will be preformed with audience participation encouraged. Appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be available.
Heritage Festival, Saturday, April 12, 11AM-11PM and Sunday, April 13, 1PM-6PM
On Saturday morning from 9AM to 11AM, a Circle K Reunion will take place at the Carolina Theater. Take advantage of a movie, ice cream, and possibly win a prize. Saturday will also consist of a vintage baseball game at War Memorial Stadium at 6:30 PM and a concert at Hamburger Square from 6-11PM. Beginning at 11 AM and ending at 6PM on Saturday and 1 PM until 6PM on Sunday, the streets will be full of historical and multicultural activities such as heritage arts and crafts, vintage games, historical re-enactments, fine art exhibits, performances, music, vintage cars, activities for children, and much more. Shuttles will be available to transport people to open houses at City Hall, Blandwood Mansion, the Courthouse, the Depot and other locations. The Heritage Festival is free and open to the public.

In case of inclement weather:
Should the Bicentennial Emergency Management team determine that we must temporarily suspend the Heritage Festival due to weather, for your safety, please take shelter in the interior lower level of the nearest parking deck. We will resume programming as soon as the weather permits or you will be notified that the Festival cannot continue.
Neighborhood Celebrations, April 26-27
During this weekend, neighborhoods are encouraged to hold their own events, such as picnics in parks, activities in recreation centers, parades or walking tours.

Faith Community Pew Exchange, May 2-4
People of various faiths will have the opportunity to visit participating houses of worship to learn about other faiths.
AT&T presents the World of Tomorrow Science and Technology Expo, May 7-10
AT&T presents the World of Tomorrow Science and Technology Expo on Wednesday, May 7th through Saturday, May 10th at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center located at 1921 West Lee Street. This event will showcase how the triad will look in the future. It will include multi-media exhibits, demonstrations and interactive opportunities that focus on futuristic expectations for our city and beyond. This event is free and open to the public. Parade of Decades, Saturday, May 17, 11 AM
This parade will celebrate 200 years of Greensboro's history and look to its future. The parade will begin at N. Greene and Lindsay and end at Church and Lindsay near the Children's Museum and Greensboro Historical Museum. Elements will include marching bands, neighborhood groups, historical characters, and much more. This event is free and open to the public.
Birthday Party, 1-4 PM
Following the parade, a birthday party will take place in Center City Park, located at 200 North Elm Street. At 2:25PM, everyone will sing happy birthday to Greensboro. This event will feature free birthday cake, entertainment, a clown, and lots of fun. This event is free and open to the public.
JUNE
Archaeological Dig at Blandwood, Monday, May 26-Friday, June 20, 8:30AM-2:30PM and Saturdays, June 7 and 14, 9AM-12PM
A cooperative project with UNCG, this archaeological survey of Blandwood, a National Historic Landmark in downtown Greensboro, will offer the unique opportunity to research the culture of early Guilford County life.
